Our Story
Naturaleza Pura Vida is a local Costa Rican family business built around something far more valuable than a tour itinerary: generations of knowledge, a deep love for this land, and a desire to share the real Costa Rica with others.
Our guides grew up here. They learned from parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents — stories about the forests, the rivers, the plants and how they have been used for generations, the insects, snakes, birds, mammals, and countless other creatures that most visitors would walk right past without ever knowing they were there.
This isn’t knowledge learned from a script. It comes from a lifetime spent living in, exploring, respecting, and protecting this extraordinary place.

For Naturaleza Pura Vida, tourism isn’t simply a business. It is how local guides support their families while sharing the country they love — and helping protect it for the people who come after them.
Geiner’s family is part of that story, including the next generation now learning alongside him. But the teaching goes beyond family. Geiner regularly shares his knowledge with young people, students, and visitors, helping them understand the land, the wildlife, the mangroves, and the responsibility we all have to care for them.
The knowledge, stories, values, and respect for the land are passed forward just as they were passed down. Family matters here. Faith matters. Community matters. And every visitor who chooses a local guide becomes a small part of helping these families continue doing what they love while protecting the place they call home.
